Sinus & Ridge Augmentation

When a tooth or teeth are removed, the previous height and width of the socket or alveolar ridge will continue to deteriorate or atrophies overtime. This leaves inadequate bone quality and quantity for implants placement and therefore rebuilding the height and width of the alveolar bone ridge may be required prior to dental implant placement or for aesthetic purposes.

Bone grafting, or ridge augmentation, can repair implant sites with inadequate bone structure due to previous extractions, gum disease or other injuries. The bone is either obtained from a tissue bank or your own bone is taken from the jaw.  Sinus bone grafts are also performed to replace bone in the posterior upper jaw in preparation for implant placement in these areas.  This procedure creates a window access into the sinus cavity and allows for bone grafting and collagen placement for regeneration
